Catching up.

On Monday (when I rejoined the ranks of the living), I had started a blog post, thought I'd saved it, went back to finish it, and it had vanished. Dang. I hate when that happens. So this week has moved along at a busy pace, and I haven't had a moment to to get on here, until this morning.
Just prior to really getting sick, I was able to still do the Corned Beef and Cabbage that I had planned and the cute cupcakes above for St. Patrick's Day. After that, I was down for the count. Twelve days to be exact. Bailey, too. Who ended up missing 10 days of school. Crazy.
Gotta love Shawn. He is the most excellent care-giver. Ever. As soon as Bailey and I were sick, he rushed over to the store, and I think he bought one of each and every cold medicine they make. Haha. This picture is just a sampling of the things he brought home. : ) The big thing with me, is I don't do Nyquil and meds like that. While they should make me sleep, I'm the opposite. I just get overly wired and have terrible (think: freaky) dreams. Nights were the worst, of course. And for about five days I had some pretty high fevers, too. Mainly at night. So, we were trying anything and everything to allow me to sleep and to bring the fever down. A few thing we've determined I also cannot take: Tylenol PM (wow, totally didn't make me sleep!), and Tylenol Cold & Flu Warming Liquid (tastes even nastier than Nyquil and I experienced some awful dreams!) What finally worked? A nice little combo of Motrin 800mg, Dimetapp Cold & Cough, Percocet and Flexeril. Sleep finally arrived. Anyway, we are all doing better. Bailey went back to school on Monday, and I was also up and about.
This has been an extremely busy week. Bailey's Pinocchio play is finally here! Monday after school was a full dress rehearsal. Tuesday they did the play at school as an assembly, Wednesday was a full day field trip to Roseville High School to do the dress rehearsal in the big theater (I went, too), tonight is the first night of the "real" play (Shawn and I are working behind the scenes and we decided to have the boys come help us). I'm sure they'll be thrilled. And tomorrow is the final night of the play, and the night that we get to watch, along with Grandma and Grandpa Butler. She is super excited! She is a marionette, and their costumes are incredible! I can't wait until I have some photos to share.

Now I have facebook too so I'm just really overwhelmed. LOL!! When my hours slow down I hopefully will stay up on it better. Hope the play goes well. Did she miss alot of practice when she was sick?
