Christmas morning - our house

Let's see. Shawn hit the pillow close to 9pm Christmas Eve. Bailey went to bed close to 10pm. Kale and Austen stayed up with me. Kale actually helped me bring all the goodies down. Kind of odd to have them both there, but still fun and memorable. They got a little glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes. Haha. I crawled into bed around 10:30pm. Just as I was starting to dose off, Bailey came in and said she couldn't sleep. We set her up on the futon in our room. After that it took a while for me to actually fall asleep. I must have been excited about Santa coming! At 4am I heard bailey get up to go to the bathroom. Crap, I thought. She's going to want to get up! And sure enough she came over and started tapping me to get up. There was just no way I could get up that early. I suggested she lay back down for a while (yeah, right.) So from 4-6am she proceeded to wait about 15 minutes and then come tap me again. I'm sure it was torture for her to wait, but man I was so tired. She wandered from the futon to her bed, and even laid in our bed for a while. I even tried to lay with her in her bed, hoping she might fall back to sleep for a bit. I don't think that ever happened. Finally at 6am I told her we could sneak down and peek at the stockings and presents. She was very excited to see that Santa had taken the black tape off the fireplace to get in, he had eaten cookies and milk and had even written her a note. Haha. At 6:15am I let her go wake up the boys and Dad. The picture above is the only picture I took on Christmas morning. On purpose. I just wanted to enjoy the kids opening up their gifts.
